BackupAZ 3 Command-Line Edition is capable of the same things as the GUI version, but it's more meant for terminals fans of for people who often connect to their devices with SSH !
BackupAZ Command-Line Edition is an awesome backup tool for your iDevice that let you backup important things such as jailbreak packages and sources, photos / videos, SMS / iMessages, etc... and the best part is that it doesn't need a computer ! All is done directly on your device !
Here is the description of the application :
BackupAZ 3 come back with a new version to use through command line apps such as NewTerm 2 or even through SSH!
As a reminder, here are the functionalities of BackupAZ 3:
Why to use iTunes to backup your device when you have BackupAZ3 in your pocket ? This application can save all these data (at the moment):
- Installed Cydia / Sileo / Zebra / Installer Packages
- Deb of your installed tweaks !
- Cydia sources
- Sileo sources
- Zebra sources
- Installer preferences
- Tweaks and Apple Applications preferences
- Calendar events
- Call History
- Address book
- Health data
- iBooks library
- Messages and iMessages
- Photos and Videos
- Safari Bookmarks
- SpringBoard settings
- Voice memos
- And restore them !
Command line version notes: Why to use this package instead of the GUI (app) one ? Well, some terminal fanatics asked me this version ;). Also when you are stuck in a restring loop without having done any backup you could just SSH into your device and do the backup remotely and export them with some tools such as iFunBox or even with scp! Very useful to keep your secret photos with you even when you'll need to restore your device :P
Usage : type "backupaz3cmd -help" for example.
No new icons will be added to your home screen, this package is to use with NewTerm 2 or through SSH, no refunds will be accepted for that reason !
The action related to the All in One button Preference can be long, depending on the size taken by the backup(s) !
BackupAZ3 store backups data under iTunes Safeguard location, but by security, I would advise you to backup these data on your PC (they are in /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/BackupAZ3). If you want to restore your backups after you've copied them onto your PC, replace BackupAZ3 folder under same path, this is very important !
NOTE: Some apps require a reboot (Phone app for Voicemails and Call history, for example). For this, simply use the command "backupaz3cmd -options -reboot" or "backupaz3cmd -options -softReboot"
